Same-day appointments
Brightside is an in-home appliance repair company — refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and ranges. Pick your appliance, pick a day, and a factory-trained technician arrives in a two-hour window with the common parts already on the truck.
Tell us three things — we'll call back to confirm your window.
Typical arrival: a 2-hour window, with a text when the technician is 30 minutes out.

Same-day slots are limited and they fill from the morning out — call before 2pm and we'll tell you honestly whether today is realistic or whether tomorrow morning is the better window.

Flat-rate pricing
No hourly meter, no surprise trip surcharge. The technician diagnoses the machine, quotes a flat price from the same book every customer sees, and waits for your yes.

$149–$389
Diagnostic fee comes off the top. 90-day warranty.
$389–$780
If the quote passes about half the price of a comparable new unit, we'll say so and tell you to replace it.
Prices are typical residential ranges for our service area — the technician confirms the exact flat rate on site. Evening and Sunday appointments carry no extra charge.
Domestic and imported, from 1998 models to last month's delivery.
One honest limit: we don't service sealed systems still under a manufacturer's five-year warranty — you'd be paying us for something the maker owes you. We'll tell you on the phone and point you at the right number.
How it works
Online in half a minute or on the phone. Tell us the appliance, the symptom and roughly how old it is — that's all we need to dispatch the right technician.
A real dispatcher calls back to lock the window — not an all-day 8-to-5. You get a text with the technician's name and a second when they're 30 minutes out.
Shoe covers on, machine pulled out, meter on the components. You get the fault explained in plain English and a flat quote you can decline with no hard feelings.
Every truck stocks the parts that fail most — pumps, belts, igniters, fans, valves, thermostats. When a board or compressor has to be ordered, it's typically 2–4 business days.
Why homeowners call us back
Our techs average nine years on residential appliances and sit the manufacturer courses each year — including inverter compressors and the newer communicating control boards.
If the same fault comes back inside 90 days we return and make it right at no charge — parts, labour and the trip. The warranty is printed on your invoice, not buried on a website.
Cancel before the technician is dispatched and you owe nothing. If the repair isn't worth doing and you decline, you pay the $89 diagnostic and not one dollar more.
Every technician is employed by us, screened, badged and photographed in your confirmation text — so you know exactly who is knocking. Shoe covers and floor protection as standard.
Straight answers
We make our money on repairs, so take this for what it is — but sending a technician to fix a machine that should be retired helps nobody. Here are the rules of thumb we use on site.
| Appliance | Expected life | Repair usually still worth it until |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator | 10–15 years | Year 10, unless it's the sealed system |
| Washer | 8–12 years | Year 8, or year 10 for a bearing-friendly build |
| Dryer | 10–13 years | Year 12 — dryers are simple and cheap to fix |
| Dishwasher | 9–12 years | Year 8, sooner if the tub is cracked |
| Range / oven | 13–15 years | Year 13 — most faults are elements or igniters |
| Over-range microwave | 8–10 years | Year 6, only for cheap parts |

Refrigerator
“Fridge stopped cooling on a Saturday with a freezer full of my catering stock. I called at 8:40am, Marcus was in the kitchen by 12:15. Bad evaporator fan and a frozen defrost drain — he had the fan on the truck and was done in about an hour. $214 all in, and he showed me how to clear the drain myself next time.”
Washer
“Front loader was walking halfway across the laundry room and screaming on spin. I fully expected to be told the bearings were shot and to buy a new one. The tech found two failed shock absorbers, replaced them for $268, and told me the drum bearing had years left. Honest people are hard to find in this trade.”
Oven & range
“Double oven locked itself after a self-clean cycle three days before we hosted twenty people. Brightside got me a 2–4pm window next morning, texted a photo of the tech beforehand, and he replaced the door latch motor and a blown thermal fuse in under an hour. Calibrated the temperature too — it had been running 40° cool for years.”
