Web Design in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Web Design

Web Design in Los Angeles

Your website is the first thing a Los Angeles client judges you on, and they decide fast. Before they read a word of your copy, they’ve already formed an opinion based on how it looks, how quickly it loaded, and whether it feels like a real business or a template someone bought for forty dollars.

The X Digital designs and builds custom websites for Los Angeles businesses. We handle the design, the branding, and the development — so the site doesn’t just look right, it performs, converts, and holds up as your business grows.

We’ve built hundreds of sites for LA clients across law, tech, hospitality, fintech, e-commerce, and the trades. Every one of them was built to do a job, not to win a design award.

Built into every build

  • Custom design, never a theme
  • Speed handled during the build
  • Copy, photo, and video in-house
  • Miracle Mile office, remote team

We Build on Every Major Platform

There’s no single right platform. There’s the right platform for your business, your team, and what you need the site to do in three years. Here’s how we think about each one.

WordPress

The workhorse. WordPress makes sense when you need to publish content regularly, want your team editing pages without calling a developer, and need a CMS that integrates with almost anything.

We don’t install a theme and hand it over. We build custom WordPress sites with clean code, optimized databases, proper caching, and managed hosting we run ourselves — which is why our WordPress builds load fast instead of crawling the way most of them do.

Shopify

For product-based businesses, Shopify handles the hard parts: payments, inventory, checkout, and the security and compliance that come with taking money online.

We build custom themes on top of it so your store doesn’t look like the ten thousand others using the same template, and we tune the checkout flow, product pages, and speed for conversions rather than just appearance.

Webflow

Webflow is a strong fit for marketing sites where visual polish matters and the client wants to make edits without touching code.

Design freedom is close to unlimited, hosting is handled, and the CMS is clean. When a business wants something that looks custom and stays easy to manage, Webflow earns its place.

Our Preference

Custom JavaScript

When we get to choose, we build in JavaScript. React, Next.js, and modern frameworks give us something no page builder can match.

Speed that isn’t comparable

A well-built JavaScript site loads in a fraction of the time a plugin-heavy WordPress install does. Pages render instantly, navigation feels immediate, and there’s no bloat from features you never asked for. That speed shows up in your Core Web Vitals, your search rankings, and your conversion rate — because visitors leave slow sites.

It connects to your mobile app

This is the real advantage. A custom JavaScript site and a mobile app can share the same backend, the same API, and the same data. Your customer logs into the website and the app and sees the same account, the same history, the same everything. If a mobile app is anywhere in your future, building the site this way means you’re not rebuilding from scratch later — you’re extending what already exists.

No ceiling

Custom booking systems, client portals, real-time dashboards, AI-powered features, complex integrations. If you can describe it, we can build it. There’s no plugin limitation to work around because there are no plugins.

No platform dependency

You’re not paying monthly fees to a platform that can change its pricing, deprecate a feature, or break your site with an update. You own the code.

The trade-off is honest: custom JavaScript takes longer to build and costs more upfront than dropping a theme onto WordPress. It’s the right call when speed matters, when you’re building a product rather than a brochure, or when a mobile app is part of the plan. On the consultation call, we’ll tell you straight whether your project needs it.

Design and Branding Come With the Build

A website built without a brand behind it always looks like a website. The colors were picked because they seemed fine. The fonts came with the theme. The photos came from a stock library, and so did your competitor’s.

We design and brand everything together, so the site works as one piece:

Brand identity

Logo, type system, color palette, and the visual rules that keep everything consistent across the site, your social channels, your deck, and your print materials.

Original photography and video

<p>Through Creative Maui, our production arm, we shoot real assets of your space, your team, and your work. In a city as visual as Los Angeles, stock photography quietly tells visitors you’re not the real thing.</p>

Copy and messaging

Written to sell, structured to rank, and shaped around what your buyer actually needs to hear before they contact you.

Conversion design

Clear hierarchy, obvious next steps, and pages built around the action you want the visitor to take. Attractive and effective aren’t in conflict when the design starts with the goal.

How We Build

01

Consultation

We talk about your business, your customers, and what the site actually needs to accomplish. Direct conversation with the people who’ll do the work.

02

Strategy and sitemap

<p>We map the pages, the user flow, the conversion paths, and the SEO structure before anyone opens a design file.</p>

03

Design

<p>Wireframes first, then full visual design. You review and give feedback at both stages — no surprises at the end.</p>

04

Build

Development on your chosen platform, responsive across every screen size, with speed and technical SEO handled during the build rather than patched afterward.

05

Launch

Testing, migration, redirects, analytics and conversion tracking, and a proper launch that doesn’t cost you your existing search rankings.

06

Ongoing

Managed hosting, security, updates, monitoring, and continued SEO and content if you want us running it. Most of our LA clients stay on.

Built Into Every Site We Ship

  • Mobile-first responsive design
  • Core Web Vitals optimization
  • On-page SEO and schema markup
  • Accessibility standards

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on scope and platform. A focused WordPress or Webflow marketing site is a different investment than a custom JavaScript build with a connected mobile app. We give you a real number after the consultation, not a range that shifts later.

Most marketing sites run four to eight weeks from kickoff to launch. Custom JavaScript builds and web applications take longer and are scoped in phases so you see working pieces along the way.

That’s the main thing we figure out on the consultation call. It comes down to who’s editing the site, whether you’re selling products, whether a mobile app is in your future, and how much speed matters to your business.

Yes. We’ll audit what you have and tell you honestly whether it’s worth improving or whether a rebuild costs less over time. We handle redesigns without losing the search rankings you’ve already earned.

Yes to both. Copywriting, photography, and video production are all in-house.

Yes. Speed is a build decision, not an afterthought. If speed is the priority above everything else, that’s the case for custom JavaScript.

We offer managed WordPress hosting and handle deployment and hosting for custom builds. Security, updates, backups, and monitoring are covered.
